Shrimp Care

As a Shrimp enthusiast in the UK finding high quality Caridina shrimps is very difficult. We decided to take on the challenge of changing this. Our vision is to work with reputable breeders from Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore and Europe to bring these small freshwater shrimps to tanks throughout the UK for new and existing hobbyists to enjoy.

Cycle your tank..

A nitrogen-cycled tank that is active and well-balanced is key helping shrimp survival rate and for them to thrive, Cycling the tank for 2-3 months is recommended, Creating an algae green walls for shrimps to graze on...

Acclimatisation..

To be successful in keeping Caridina shrimps you must follow the basics….

Once you receive the shrimps you must drip acclimatise them to their new

environment.

Simply by using aquarium air line tubing from the tank to a

container with water the shrimp have been transported in.

Slow drip process

is vital as you don’t want to shock the shrimps!

Tie a knot in one end of the

tubing to allow slow drips of your aquarium water for between 2-3 hours for

the new shrimp to acclimatise to your water parameters.

Once ready slowly

net them into your tank.

Set Your Parameters

Following water parameters are strongly advised….

  • Temperature between 19-23 degrees in the tank.

  • RO Water only remineralised of a TDS between 100-150

  • pH between 5.5 -7.

  • GH (General Hardness) 4-6.

We recognise that hobbyist’s have their own parameters, However...

these are the shrimp factory's recommendations to new shrimp

keepers also with the advise coming from experienced high quality

breeders/keepers within the shrimp community.
